In order to solve the traffic congestions in Metro Manila the Laguna Lake Development Authority (LLDA) joined forces with the Pasig River Rehabilitation Commission (PRRC).
They conducted a meeting in Quezon City to have other alternative solutions in forming and creating a modern type of transportation that will traverse Pasig River and Laguna De Bay.
A mass transport system that is reliable, safe, fast, and convenient, but a cheap form of transportation that gained positive reaction as this would fill in as an appreciated rest to the disappointment of millions over the growing traffic congestion problem not only in the metropolis but also in its neighboring areas.
Currently, the existing ferry service only cruises from Pinagbuhatan in Pasig to Intramuros in the City of Manila. The plan is to extend the route up to Laguna bay area.
The project would give dependable and effective methods of water and light rail transportation to more than 15 million workers of Metro Manila and the Province of Laguna.
Managed by PRRC Executive Director Jose Antonio Goiti and LLDA General Manager Jaime Medina the plan provides the public with positive views of a gigantic project that would change the Pasig River and Laguna de bay into a better and suitable new method of transport.
Eventually, the aggressive project would reestablish the water nature of the Pasig River to Class C level that backings and supports aquatic life which is very favorable for tourism, recreation, and transportation, Goiti added. -JCE.
