Philippine Navy (PN) spokesperson Captain Lued Lincuna has confirmed that the Philippines First strategic sealift vessel (SSV), the BRP Tarlac (LD-601), arrived before midnight on Friday and now safely anchored at the breakwater of the Manila South Harbor.

Capt. Lued Lincuna said, “BRP Tarlac safely anchored near breakwater of the Manila South Harbor yesterday before midnight,”

“It should be here by Saturday, fortunately, it arrived early midnight on Friday,” He said.

Prior docking at Pier 13, the ship and her crew will undergo Customs Immigration and Quarantine, Lincuna said.

BRP Tarlac’s formal welcome to the PN is scheduled on the afternoon of May 16.

After BRP Tarlac has successfully concluded the ship’s general performance and seaworthiness, BRP Tarlac left the Surabaya shipyard of Indonesian contract PT PAL (Persero) last May 9. – Carl E.
