After numerous reports of malicious encounters over taxi drivers scolding their passengers or at worst a katana wielding taxi driver, taxi commuter Rommel Lopez breaks the streak by uploading photos of a driver but this time because of his good behavior.
The post is about Mr. Eugenio Ventura, a 63-year-old taxi driver that performs his duties with joy and even refusing tips from the passengers. Lopez’s post has been shared for over 120,000 and garnered over 268,000 likes as of posting.
“Sir, pasok lang. Hindi ako namimili ng pasahero. Kahit saan kayo pupunta, ihahatid ko kayo,” he quoted Ventura saying as he was welcomed before entering the cab.
Meet Mr. Eugenio Ventura, 63 years old, a taxi driver. I hailed him at the LRT Roosevelt Station to go to Mother Ignacia…

Lopez learned that Mr. Ventura acknowledges the fact that the passengers are paying for a service, which means being nice to them is part of the job.
“Kayo ang pinanggagalingan ng aming kabuhayan,” Ventura told Lopez.
Lopez attempts to give Ventura a P20.00 tip for his joyful approach and good manners but the taxi driver refuses to take it, that’s why Lopez just decided to take snap of his photo to share the driver’s story on social media as a reward. -John Esconde
No comments on good behavior?
If only the Philippines have professional taxi drivers, we produce more Mr. Ventura. It is time to introduce reforms in this area of work. It is time to introduce professional ethics and standards. Let’s end the practice of anyone can drive a taxi with only the driving licence as a requisite. Any person with criminal case shall not allowed to drive a taxi, the same to a person who occasionally use drugs, and person who is sick.
good job manong driver….sana ganon dito sa company na pinagtratrabahohan ko….
