A South Korean firm the Hyundai Rotem Company an affiliate in train making of Hyundai Motor Group, has inked an arrangement to build a 530 billion won (US$440.2 million) subway line and other necessary and fundamental systems frameworks in the Philippines.

According to Yonhap news, The deals signed with ULC, a local company, calls for Hyundai Rotem to build a subway line linking a station in Manila to another in Bulacan which is located in the northern part of the country.

The company said, that by the second half of 2019 the train line will be completed. Likewise they will also provide the trains to be deployed for the line along with other necessary communications, signal, and electric systems.

The arrangement is the biggest that Hyundai Rotem has ever constructed in the Philippines since 1996 when it initially entered the business sector.

This likewise marks the first time that it has secured an order from the Philippines on a turn-key premise under which it will be responsible for the whole project from planning to the development and actual construction. – Carl E.

  1. Oh, God! I pray that this project will not be destroyed by corruption. Please kill all corrupt officials who will ask for kickbacks and grease money.

  2. this is exactly what Manila needs to combat the heavy traffic congestion. Hopefully this will go ahead.
