The Chinese government claims most of the South China Sea near the Spratly islands where Philippines and other neighboring countries also have overlapping claims.
Since China begin it’s land reclamation in December 2013, it had reclaimed more than 2,900 acres (1,170 hectares) of land as of June 2015, China had reclaimed 17 times more land in 20 months than the other claimants combined over the past 40 years, according to reports.
Despite calls from the U.S. to stop their land reclamation, China didn’t stop building structures on their artificial islands that led to U.S. sending it’s warships and practice freedom of navigation in the region.
The Philippines has a strong case against China, but the question is, will China recognize the ruling of the Permanent Court of Arbitration? What will happen if China continues it’s artificial island building?
War is the most impossible thing. However, if there is a war, one should fight it through.

It’s not hard to see who will win in a war between the two countries, but with the Arm Forces of the Philippines’ modernization program and the US helping the Philippines to strengthen its military power. The chances of winning a war against China is not impossible anymore.
Plus the US has a defense treaty with the Philippines, both nations would support each other if either the Philippines or the United States were to be attacked by an external party.
If there is a conflict, US and China will classify it not as a war as much as possible to avoid the situation that US has to take the obligation against China.
Both countries will try all the diplomatic method before war.
As a famous saying associated to British Philosopher Bertrand Russel goes “War does not determine who is right – only who is left.” -John Esconde
Only way Philippines has a chance is if another Superpower comes in and bails them out again.
The real only way the Philippines to beat China is to become the 51st State of the United States of America…That is for sure…Let us not hallucinate we can defeat China as an Independent country…That is the reality we have to accept.
No way sir. David defeated goliath because he was wiser than the giant empty head. So as the Filipino people. I am not dreaming of defeating China, but if they attack us, we have the advantage. The sea is our best ally. Next is US, Japan, and Australia. I don’t believe, some of them will ever reach our beautiful beaches.
Are you afraid of their toys? They can’t even perfect their elevators and escalators. How much more of their more complex apparatuses?
China will destroy the philippines in three days and if the USA involves itself Russia, North Korea and Iran will be unleashed as well.
That if, they are willing to be destroyed themselves. Remember my friend, China is surrounded by her enemies. I know, the Chinese leaders are good invaders but not that dumb enough to attack the Philippines where they know it’s the beginning of their destruction. The USSR during its glory days has not even risk itself to confront the west. How much more now, when Ukraine, the Baltic states, Georgia, to name some forces, are no longer part of it. And what is Russia compared to USSR. And do you think Russia will come to the aid of an international bully?
Your comment is one way, a typical communist sympathiser.

If we take a look on the current state of China, it is very obvious that they have the power, weapon, manpower, industry, and economics. On the other hand; my nation; The Republic of Philippines; have lousy government, neglected soldier’s condition, loose weapons, and indeed an in a state where the regions are fragmented.
How could we dare to fight the foreign when we cannot even unite our own nation as one? How can we dare to day we are proud to be a Filipino when we can’t stand with full pride and honor on ourselves? How will we progress if the one who drag us down are our own leaders?
Philippines will be as strong as the other successful nations if it fights as a nation.
