A Russian ‘Doomsday’ plane which is invisible and can be used in a nuclear war could be operational in two weeks.
Russia is now fully prepared in case of a nuclear war with NATO, this airborne strategic command centre is capable of controlling Russia’s armed forces in case of a devastating conflict or a nuclear war.
A number of tests have been completed by the Russia’s defense industry aboard a modified Ilyushin Il-80 aircraft, which will be used by Russian army on battlefields in case of a disruption in communications from ground facilities, according to RT.
The US was the only country who possess a command centre of this kind until now. This new flying command center will be operational by the end of 2015. Russia’s United Instrument Manufacturing Corporation (UIMC) said.
Despite experts saying that the multi-million weapon will not be ready until the end of 2015, Putin has ordered for it to be ready in just two weeks as tensions between Russia and Turkey intensifies.

In an interview with ITAR-TASS, Komyakov said that “While [command] installations with known ground positions could be eliminated, an airborne command post is a target hard to disable because it shifts continuously. The Americans call this type of aircraft “doomsday planes.”
Aleksandr Komyakov, director general of the research and production enterprise, says the Il-80’s main advantage is its “invincibility.”
The primary task of “doomsday” planes is “establishing [communications] networks in extremely unfavorable circumstances, with ground infrastructure missing or destroyed,” Komyakov said.
Efforts to get the doomsday planes ready comes as Russia accuses Turkey of shooting down a Russian fighter jet to hide their links to ISIS illegal oil trade.
Turkey, which is protected by NATO, might find itself alone in a near war against Russia according to analysts of Russia & India Report.
While US and other NATO members are bound to defend Turkey, the chances are “smaller than small,” that the Americans would be willing to risk New York for Istanbul, the report noted.
But it should not ignore that the “hothead” NATO member, Turkey, could attack Russia all alone, the report suggests.
“A nuclear exchange will undoubtedly have catastrophic consequences for both sides – and perhaps the entire planet – but there are certain factors that could skew the fighting field in Russia’s favour,” according to the report.
