At a regular news briefing, Foreign Ministry spokesman Hong Lei said. “We call on relevant countries to refrain from flexing muscles, stop creating tension or militarizing the area and do the right things that contribute to peace and stability on the South China Sea”

On Thursday, China’s Defense Ministry cautioned the U.S. not to send military vessels again to Chinese territory in the South China Sea, after U.S. maddened China by sending and patrolling warship USS Lassen to waters close Zhubi Reef in an alleged flexibility and freedom of navigation.

Defense Ministry spokesperson Wu Qian said when answering a journalist’s question about possible U.S. freedom of navigation operations in the South China Sea. “There is no problem with freedom of navigation. We urge the U.S. not to be provocative that sooner will push us to the limit.”

“The Chinese military will take all the vital measures to defend national sovereignty, security and maritime rights,” Wu added. – Carl E.
