President of the Philippines, Benigno Aquino III is still undecided to convene the National Security Council despite China’s increasing aggression in the disputed South China Sea or the West Philippines Sea.
Presidential spokesperson Abigail Valte replied when ask via text messages , is it necessary for Aquino to meet the NSC to tackle China’s Aggression? She said “In the President’s view, not at this time.”
“From time to time, Cabinet’s security cluster and relevant departments present which is composed of defense, military and police officials regularly tackles the Philippines’ territorial dispute with China in its meetings with Aquino.” Valte added.
“We have dealt with other national security-related issues as well as other matter through the mechanism of the security cluster,” she added.
