Undefeated boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. denied Sunday a report that said he and rival Manny Pacquiao had agreed to terms on a long-awaited match. Mayweather dispelled rumors that he or Pacquiao had already signed a deal during a live interview on TNT’s broadcast of the 2015 NBA All-Star Game at New York City’s Madison Square Garden.
Speaking court side, a 37-year-old boxer Floyd said “No, that’s not true. I haven’t signed yet, and he hasn’t signed yet. It’s just been speculation and rumors. But hopefully we can make the fight happen.”
“All set, we are just waiting for Floyd to announce it.” according to the source.
Why Floyd Mayweather is denying he signed or delaying the announcement of the fight?

Here are some possible reasons.
- More delays mean more hungry sports fans.
- To attract lots of prospective advertisers.
- To increase pay per view revenue.
- Floyd wants to mindset the public that he is not rude and an arrogant person. Manny is helping him.
“Later that night he visited me at my hotel. He did most the talking, and I just listened. I think Floyd is essentially a good person, a nice person,” Manny said last week. - Also Floyd wants his opponent to be his underdog.
- It is also a promotional gimmick to all bettors that he is more advantage than his opponent.
- It will be too late for Pacquiao to train hard, get strength and momentum if Floyd announce it closer to May 2.
It shows that Floyd Mayweather Jr. is more than just a businessman than a boxer.
